Books have helped us learn more about the new challenges that have been thrown our way, what other people who have similar challenges have experienced and how they handled these challenges.

Books have also helped entertain and distract us from time to time. As we drove back and forth our house and the hospital, Nhatz and I have finished listening to the audiobook The Steve Jobs Way: iLeadership for a New Generation by Jay Elliot. I didn’t know Steve Jobs was that eccentric but I admire the ultimate consumer that he is.
Nhatz had previously started listening to Michael Scott’s The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series. I caught up with him towards the latter end of the second book, The Magician. We are now listening to the third book together, The Sorceress. It’s an interesting mix of sorcery and hi-tech, e.g. there’s a database of immortals and you’ve got these immortals using cell phones.
